Ole! Cole our little caballero!

Cole did the Mexican Hat Dance and other dances from Mexico! He looks great in a poncho. What a cute little curly blonde haired Mexican.

I Just Love Cub Scouts

It it great being a Den Mother. Recently we found which native plants are edible, learned about Yurtas in Kryzstan, ran the "Letters to Santa" booth at Bates Country Christmas, and sang with other Primary children from our Stake at a care facility. I love the Cub Scout program and boys love patches!

Cole's Family Shindig

At the San Diego Temple

A favorite Christmas tradition is visiting the San Diego Temple with the lights, nativities, and singing. There is a wonderful feeling at the temple!

Cole the Christmas Boy Turned 7!

Cole had two parties; one with family and one with friends. Cole has a set of friends that are triplets and a set of twins. So for Cole's 6 friends I only had to call 2 moms. Cole and his buddies played in the treehouse, jumped on the trampoline and whacked a Lego pinata. We made the pinata our of a box from our new vaccuum. The kids are playing simple, goofy games with Legos. Cole is a Lego-maniac. Cole enjoyed a Sunday afternoon birthday party with two sets of great grandparents and both sets of grandparents. We love having family share in our celebrations!

I See Thee For a Melon... I Mean Felon

The local library has a grant to teach dramatic sword fighting.  Okay, think of all the kids sword fighting with sticks, this is a kid's dream come true.  Not only are the kids wielding steel, but they are learning lines from Shakespeare and the Three Musketeers.  Tyler was run through twice at the sword fighting exhibition on Sat.  He loved performing with his sword weilding friends.  Yep, we skipping soccer season to sword fight.  Ty is also interested in playing the bag pipes.  Hmmm... interesting.

Sailing Nov. 24

Sailing in November?  Yes!  What a treat.  We stopped at In and Out for burgers on the way down for a perfect laid back day.  Patti and Quinn took us sailing in their cool sailboat.  We saw a sea lion, cool houseboats, big fancy catamarans...

We Bake Cookies Alot so...

Since we are prolific in our cookie production, Addy decided she'd like an apron. I only have one girl so I went all out to make a super fancy apron. I saw cute ones for adults down the street at Bates so I made a kid version. I may make myself a matching one. Little girl stuff is so fun. I am quite proud of how this project turned out. I'll have to go to the girl section at the toy store to help Santa. It's a tough job but I'm up to it!

Ideas for Halloween Candy

Welcome to my new blog. So, I have a couple of ideas for using Halloween candy. Today Addy and I made "Halloween Cookies." We took our favorite candy bars and squished them up and replaced the chocolate chips our recipe calls for with our concoction! We also freeze the candy after about a week of pillaging and use it on our graham cracker Christmas houses.

Addy was a royal bride and Tyler and Cole were 2 or the 3 Musketeers. Tyler is enamored with dramatic sword fighting so the boys chose to be sword wielding characters. He is involved with a sword fighting class that meets at the library. The boys also love drawing pirate ships and long hours playing Legos.
